Morocco, 2023
A solo trip that became a return to analogue photography after years away from the camera. At the time I was painting regularly — fluid, organic forms — and I was looking for ways to bring more depth into my work through adding photography.
I was drawn to Morocco's surf and skate scene, and the quality of movement within it: bodies in water, bodies on concrete, the same fluid motion in different contexts.
The mixed media works came from layering the photographs with the painted forms I'd been making alongside them.
